Exeter UFO Festival for 2024

The members of the Exeter Area Kiwanis Club, promoters of the annual Exeter UFO Festival, are requesting your help by sponsoring the upcoming 2024 Exeter UFO Festival (downtown Exeter, Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, 2024). 

For the first time in the many years we’ve produced the Exeter UFO Festival, we are adding sponsorship levels to the event. These sponsorships will help us offset our growing costs for producing the festival, thereby allowing us to increase our contributions to many Seacoast charities and nonprofits. 

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Since 1980, the Exeter Kiwanis Club has supported many Seacoast charities, schools and nonprofit organizations with service projects and financial support. A few of our projects include: 

● Exeter High School and Seacoast School of Technology (SST) Scholarships 

● Exeter Hospital Emergency Helicopter Pad 

● Exeter High School Key Club and Cooperative Middle School Builders Club 

● Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute 

● Exeter Christmas Parade 

● NewHampshire Special Olympics 

● Planet Playground, Exeter, New Hampshire 

● YMCACampLincoln scholarships, kids snacks program and Spring Cleanup 

● Exeter Department of Parks & Recreation Summer scholarships. 

The annual Exeter UFO Festival is our largest fundraising event, where all profits are dedicated to Seacoast organizations serving children and families. The Festival, celebrating the infamous "Incident at Exeter,” has become a community event that features UFO enthusiasts and speakers from around the country. Kids events and activities are included, and local merchants and restaurants have fun participating. 

Now your company or organization can have a headlining role at the Festival as a sponsor. 

We are offering three levels of sponsorship (see the attached Sponsorship Opportunities sheet for details): 

1. TheMothership (our lead sponsor): the primary sponsor promoted across all Festival activities. Mothership sponsorship is $2,500

2. KeyActivity sponsors (four sponsors): Food Area, Kids Craft Area, Trolley 1 and Trolley 2. Key Activity sponsorship is $1000 each.

3. Star sponsors (up to 20 sponsors). Star sponsorship is $150.

What is the annual Exeter UFO Festival? 

The Exeter UFOFestival celebrates the “Incident at Exeter” and other UFO and extraterrestrial related topics. The festival features a variety of speakers, panels, and activities, all of which are designed to educate and entertain visitors. What are the available sponsorship levels for the Festival? 

Mothership (primary sponsor), key activities (food, kids crafts, trolley 1 or trolley 2 sponsor), and Star sponsor. 

When must our organization lock up a sponsorship spot? 

We will be promoting these sponsorship opportunities heavily over the next few months. There are a total of 25 sponsorship spots. We will allocate these spots on a first come, first serve basis. We will close the sponsorship opportunities on July 1st (when we begin publicly promoting the event, including identifying our valued sponsors). 

What is the process for locking up a sponsorship: 

Sponsors can pay in full by check, or they can reserve a sponsorship level by paying 50% now, and the 50% balance by August 15th, 2024.

The Exeter Kiwanis Club will email regular updates to sponsors when we are promoting the Festival, including promoting our sponsors. Free sponsor tickets and trolley rides will be provided to our sponsors by August 15th.

Is the Exeter Area Kiwanis a nonprofit, allowing my organization to write-off this expense? 

Exeter Area Kiwanis is a general 501(c)4 non-profit, so these sponsorships are not tax-deductible. Generally, these sponsorships can be written off as a Marketing expense. We recommend that you talk to your tax expert on how you can cover any sponsorship expenses. 

What happens if the 2024 UFO Festival is canceled due to extraordinary circumstances (e.g., weather): 

The Exeter UFO Festival is held, rain or shine. However, if extraordinary conditions occur and the event or sponsored activity is canceled, sponsor contributions will be returned in full within 30 days. If individual sponsored activities are canceled (e.g., food area is closed due to heavy rain or winds or the trollies can’t run), those specific sponsor contributions will be returned in full within 30 days.
